Ruth Haines Obituary

Ruth Ann Boyers Haines, 78, of Mount Morris, Pa., went to be with her Savior Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born August 12, 1946, a daughter of the late Albert Abram and Gladys Barbara Hartman Boyers. Ruth's greatest joy was being a devoted Mother and Nana. She greatly cherished time with her family, and loved to laugh with, spoil, and cook for them. She was known for her huge heart, generous spirit, willingness to serve, quick wit, ability to make everyone feel loved, and her infectious laugh! Even on her darkest days, she consistently shared her sunshine with those around her. Her faith and love of her Lord was the foundation of her life and was a treasured legacy she leaves her family and all who knew her. Mrs. Haines was a lifelong resident of Mount Morris, Pa. She graduated from Waynesburg Central High School in 1964. She attended West Virginia Business College in 1965. She was a retired secretary for the Central Greene School District serving Perry, Whitley, Brave and East Ward schools for nearly 15 years. She was an avid band booster for the Waynesburg Central High School Band from 1979-1986 supporting her children and their friends while they participated in the band. She will forever be remembered for piling her many Bonus Kids in the big yellow bronco transporting them to and from events laughing the entire time showing her genuine heart and love for kids, especially her own. She was known as a "Bonus Mom" to many. She attended Mt. Morris Assembly of God Church from her early childhood to adult life singing in the choir, serving as a Missionette and Prim Leader, Bible school teacher while helping and serving in many other children's and woman's ministries. It was of utmost importance to Ruth to encourage children of all ages to understand and accept the priceless gift of knowing and living their lives for Christ. In 1982, she began attending the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Morgantown to present day until her health no longer permitted it. She married her late husband, George Russell Haines June 20, 1985, and they owned and operated the Mount Morris Campground for over 35 years. They enjoyed meeting people from all over the United Stated and Canada and developed many lifelong friendships in doing so. Ruth was a Landowner Advocate for over 10 years assisting landowners in Pennsylvania and West Virginia acquire gas and oil leases through her relationship with US Mineral Rights. Ruth loved to cook! She was an avid baker who enjoyed creating multiple wedding, holiday and birthday cakes for her family and friends while spoiling them with her delicious cooking. She enjoyed traveling when her health permitted, especially visiting extended family. She loved reading, collecting cookbooks, studying the Bible and end-time prophecy. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and listening to gospel music. She will be deeply missed as the cherished matriarch of her family. Ruth is survived by her three beloved children and their spouses: Charlotte and Joe R. Pyle of Mt. Morris, Pa.; Kim and Dr. David Sanders of Morgantown; Reverends Ted and Tracie Kiger of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Ruth is also survived by her cherished grandchildren and great- grandchildren, Aaron, Tiffany, Blaire and Grier Pyle of Morgantown; Andrew Pyle of Morgantown; Trent and Lindsay Kiger of Pataskala, Ohio; Pastor Travis Kiger of Cleveland, Tenn.; and three step-children, Kenneth Haines, Dave and Betty Haines, and Debra Haines of Mt. Morris, Pa.; sister, Barbara and Mike Strosnider of Florissant, Mo.; her sister-in-law and best friend, Laura Lemley of Mt. Morris, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Pat Boyers of Dyersburg, Tenn. She is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Russell Haines; her brother, William A. Boyers; and a step- daughter-in-law, Carol Sue Engle Haines. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Angie Rog and the many loving caregivers and physical therapists at Morgantown Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Mon Health Medical Center along with Dr. Gabriella Horvath, Dr. Borbola Czinge, and Dr. John Lobban for their compassion and care given to Ruth. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 28, in Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home in Morgantown. Visitation will continue in The Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle, 103 School Road, Mt. Morris, PA 15349, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, the time of service, Saturday March 29, officiated by her son, the Reverend Ted W. Kiger. Interment will be at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mount Morris, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to the Fire Bible Organization, which supplies Bibles around the world to those who do not have one. I met your Mom when she was a teenager. Your Grandad did plumbing for my Dad when he build houses in the 50- early70's. I remember going to Albert's house for dinner once. I thought your Mom was the prettiest young lady I had ever seen. She was friendly and outgoing. All of those attributes continued throughout her life. May she RIP and may you all find solace in your memories
