Sandra Mollie Jones-Gordon, MD, 70, of Bridgeville (formerly of Bentleyville), passed away, in her home, Monday, February 6, 2023.
She was the wife of Albert W. Gordon II, whom she met in 1966 in the ninth grade, and was married in 1981 for over 41 years.
She was a daughter of the late Margaret Belle Brewer and Elijah Jones; sister of Rudolph (Cheryl) Johnson; aunt of Jeffrey (Shakira) Johnson, Jennifer Johnson and Erica Johnson; great-aunt of Bryanna and Myranda Johnson; great-great-aunt of Avery; cousin of Katherine Travis. She is also survived by many close friends (some like family).
Sandra was a 1970 graduate of Bentworth High School. She received her BS in Medical Technology at California University followed by an internship at Washington Hospital. She additionally earned her Master's degree of Health Related Professions at the University of Pittsburgh. She followed with her MD degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. She then started her career at Youngstown Community Health Center for two years and then joined a private medical practice, McCormick Medical Associates, which later became Prime Medical Group. After her full retirement in 2018, she worked part time at Freedom Health Care Services and Magnolia Networks in Bridgeville until 2020.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Carnegie at times singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. Sandra was truly a fashionista, had a love for New York City, the theatre and getting together with family and friends. She enjoyed and loved her cats, Vivian and Gabby and the late Holly. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, aunt and friend, and will be dearly missed by all.
Family and friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 9, in the Leo J. Henney Funeral Home, 323 Second Avenue, Carnegie, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 10.

Dr. Gordon was like a sister to me and someone who would listen to you and was an excellent MD. She will be missed. I just found out that she passed away on March 15th..
