Selena Tatrai-Ray Obituary
She was born Friday, March 13, 1998, in Monroeville, a daughter of the late Sean Ray and Rochelle Tatrai-Ray.
She was a volunteer camp counselor at Monongahela Valley YMCA. She also volunteered at Washington Area Humane Society and at a food bank while she lived in Lutz, Fla.
She had a beautiful singing voice, loved the color red, had a kind and giving heart and loved animals, especially her cats, Lucy-Liu and Ringo Star.
She graduated with honors from George M. Steinbrenner High School in Lutz in 2016. She was dual enrolled at California University of Pennsylvania while still in high school.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is her paternal grandmother, Arlene Robinson.
Left to cherish her memory are a sister, Marisa Tatrai-Ray of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandparents Gai Linn and Louis Tatrai; aunts Gai-Linn Sitta and Dana Febbraro; and cousins Lauren Sitta, Brynn Sitta, Maria Febbraro, Valencia Jones and Arlaina Doswell.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and until 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, March 24, in Mariscotti Funeral Home Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, with the Rev. David Chafin officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.

Selena was a wonderful student, and was loved by many of her classmates. Her writing was always beautiful and a joy to read. I remember one day she decided to share a piece of her writing with the class, and we were all moved by her words and sincerity. We will miss Selena, and always admire her strength and courage.

My condolences to Mrs. Robinson, "Grandma" as she was known to us here at Steinbrenner, Tampa, Fl. Selena had been thru a lot and got comfortable with us here in the Guidance Office.
"Grandma", you did a lot for your grand daughter and I hope that she may now rest in peace, alongside her mother she so truly missed and you find comfort during this time.
