I met Bill while tracing my family history. It appears we were related. Willa Mae Vanzego Davison was my cousin, and was married to Thomas C. Davison. Bill shared information with me, and put me in touch with individuals who knew Willa. Bill and I kept in touch via emails. We shared pictures of our children. I watched Amanda grow up to be a beautiful young lady. I will truly miss Bill, and cannot express how heavy my heart is right now. Rest in heavenly peace Cuz. and thank you.

Bill was a dear friend. We started corresponding in 2000 when I was doing scholarly research about black GIs in Normandy in 1944. He gave me copies of his father´s diary and photographs of the 320 battalion on D Day which together with the testimonies of elderly Normans and archives documents led to the official recognition of the presence of black American combattants on the beaches of Normandy. Then every month until the first week of 2023 he sent me pictures of his beloved daughter. I have more pictures of Amanda as a baby, a little girl, a teenager going to proms than of my own children. But I do not have her address. I would like to share with her some of the beautiful things Bill wrote about her. Can someone tell me how I can reach her? My email is [email protected]

Bill was a regular customer at my store. We shared a love for bloodhounds, and always swapped stories about ours. I am so heart broken to hear that he passed away. I will miss seeing him and talking to him. R.I.P Bill

Mr. Davison would come to visit his daughter once a month and stayed at our motel for many years. He was a very kind man and would always be walking his dog. He was scheduled to arrive today 2/17/23 and when he didn´t show, I called his # with a bad a feeling. I found out of his passing. I want to extend my condolences to his family. I´m so very sorry for your loss.
