William R. Giovanetti, 76, of Brookville, died Monday, April 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born September 1, 1946, in Braddock, a son of the late Anna Lominski and Jack Joseph Giovanetti.
William served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1966 to 1969.
For over 25 years, he spent his life with his partner, Mary K. Jenkins, who survives.
William earned his high school diploma and furthered his education at the Rosedale Technical Institute in the Auto Diesel Mechanic curriculum. He worked as a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 66, and held various construction field related jobs throughout his lifetime. He retired as a Union Mechanic with his last job being for Waste Management, in Washington.
He enjoyed hunting, tinkering in his garage, riding his tractor and spending time with his friends. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In addition to his partner Mary, he is survived by four children: son, David Giovanetti and wife, Colleen, of Leechburg, daughter, Kelly Giovanetti Stoner of North Huntington, son, Stephen Giovanetti of Church Hill, and daughter, Kristy Giovanetti of Washington; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise George and husband, Leo, of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Bobby and infant Peter Giovanetti; and a sister, Marie Smith.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.
Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. Giovanetti, to any Veteran's Organization.
