William Ostrowski, Sr., 78, of Canonsburg, died Monday, March 21, 2022.
He was born July 20, 1943, in Canonsburg, a son of Stanley and Elizabeth Ewaskey Ostrowski.
On October 28, 1963, he married Shirley Churchill, who died on January 4, 2020.
He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Prior to his retirement, William was employed as a fleet service agent for US Airways.
He was a member of the American Legion. William enjoyed horseback riding, bike and motorcycle riding, and especially telling stories and jokes to his family and friends.
Surviving are his sons, William (David) Ostrowski, Jr., of Conneaut Lake, Edward A. (MaryJane) Ostrowski, of Ebensburg; daughter, Tracy Fuse, of Chartiers; brothers, Lawrence (Carole) Ostrowski, of Houston, Stanley (Kim) Ostrowski, Jr. of Pittsburgh, and Theodore (Carol) Ostrowski, of Cecil; sister, Bernice Polasky of North Strabane; grandchildren, Megan (Kevin) Ostrowski, Ian (Lauren) Ostrowski, Aja Reddix, Mia Reddix, and Carter Fuse; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Ostrowski.
There will be no public visitation. Funeral service will take place at Forest Lawn Gardens, Mausoleum, at 11 a.m. on Monday, with full military honors accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191 Honor Guard.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
