William Paul Obituary

William Michael "Bill" Paul, 90, of Cecil, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, in Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born February 28, 1927, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Louis and Mary Tibai Paul.
In 1943, while in high school, he played sandlot baseball with the Hazelwood team at Forbes Field, and they were named Honus Wagner League champions.
Mr. Paul served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Egypt. He graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College, where he met the love of his life, Dolores, who died in June 2016. He went on to Duquesne University and earned his master's degree in education. He started his teaching career in Orbisonia, where he taught chemistry, physics and physical education. He also coached basketball, baseball and football. He moved to Cecil and began teaching chemistry at Cecil High School, then Canon-McMillan High School, and retired from Bethel Park High School in 1982. He was a substitute teacher at South Fayette until he started teaching chemistry at Community College of Allegheny County.
He was a member of St. Mary Parish, Cecil, Legion of Mary, St. Vincent DePaul Society and Men's Club. He enjoyed walking with his wife after morning Mass. He enjoyed golf and belonged to Millers Run Golf Club, where he scored a hole-in-one at Clover Hill Golf Course. He was also a member of Cecil American Legion Post 793.
Surviving are four daughters, Patricia (Tony) Caggiano of Mt. Washington, Margie (Del) Kreiser of North Huntingdon, Lorraine "Lori" (Tim) Sauers of Wexford and Judy (Greg) Eng of Savannah, Ga.; five grandchildren, Anthony and Catherine Caggiano of Mt. Washington, Kellie Kreiser and husband Michael Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz., Del Kreiser II of Boulder, Colo., and Victoria Sauers of Wexford; and brother Robert (Nancy) Paul.
In addition to his wife, deceased are daughter Maryann Paul in 1959; brother Louis Paul; sister Theresa Nagy; and brother-in-law Steve Nagy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, followed at 10 a.m. by a Christian funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church with Father Stan Gregorek officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery with full military honors accorded by Canonsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars 191 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to St. Jude's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
