Lee Marlow Obituary

Newton - Lee Bolick Marlow, age 84, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
He was born in Catawba County to the late Walter Franklin Marlow and Emma Bolick Marlow. Lee was a lifelong member of Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Coast Guard and retired from Southern Glove Mfg. Co. He loved to grow vegetables and delighted in sharing them. His friend, Bob Bollinger and he grew azaleas and shrubbery in a greenhouse after starting them in the field. Lee delighted in working with bees, making frames and bee hives. He was an outdoorsman with love of farming, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Harold Franklin Marlow and Clyde Herman Marlowe.
Survivors are: His wife of 57 years: Doris Raby Marlow of the home
Son: Kenneth Lee Marlow of the home
Sister-In-Law: Collene Marlowe
Nephew: Tim Marlowe and wife Cynthia of Hickory
Great-Nephews: Jeremy Marlowe andDustin Marlowe and wife Angie of Hickory.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Newton. Rev. Robert Sain will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. at Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church Family Life Center.
