Mrs. Cook, I had the opportunity to work with your husband at Howard Middle School for a little while before retiring in 2001. Mr. Cook was a very jolly person each time you saw him, if you were having a "bad day" he would have something to say to make you laugh and turn it into a good day. I was shocked to hear of his death, but he's in his home that God has prepared for him and we can look forward to seeing him again one day. I'm praying for you and your family that God will give you the "peace and comfort" that only He can give. God Bless.

Words alone can not express the shock we all felt upon hearing of Mr. Cook’s passing. I was blessed to work with him for a number of years at Howard Middle. In that time, the “Building 14 team” shared many laughs, meals & educated many students. It was our camaraderie that made even the hard days go by so swiftly…the impact Mr. Cook made on the students will be a lasting tribute. He loved the students and we all looked forward to him teaching them about Afro-American History, Hurricane topics, and our wonderful classroom garden that he worked & harvested every year. Whatever we needed he “knew someone, that knew someone”…We all loved him and will miss him terribly. I affectionately named him “stud muffin” because of his lovable & personable demeanor. Thank you Mrs. Dorothy & family for sharing Mr. Cook with us. God Bless You

I knew Deacon Cook from his years at Browns Chapel MB Church under the leadership of Pastor Veal in Miami, FL and then from Mt. Vernon under the Leadership of Rev. Miller. Mr. Cook was my family's deacon; Stephanie, Tony, Jaime and Me, Jessika. He will forever be in our hearts. We love you Dea. Cook but God loves you best. Sit down servant and rest a little while! Well Done Dea. Cook, Well Done!!!
