Ocala- Craig Ian Macdonald, 65 passed away on March 21, 2011 in Ocala, FL. He was born in Mobile, AL and moved to Marion County in 1974. He was a US Captain and Assistant Bureau Chief with the Marion County Sheriff's Office. He was the loving husband of Rebecca Macdonald and father of Hilery Paige (Frank) Zadnik of Ocala, FL, also the brother of Jack Ian Macdonald of Oviedo, FL. Visitation will be Thursday 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church with services at 2:00 p.m. Rev. John Outlaw will be presiding. Those who wish may make donations to Hospice of Marion County. Arrangements by Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon.

We are so sorry to hear of Craig's passing. I have fond memories of fishing with Craig, even though he always caught more and let me know about it and also our good natured ribbing at the gym. We loved Craig and we love both of you. You are in our prayers.

Becky, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Craig was truly one of the best.To this day I repeat to others what he once told me as a young sergeant at the Sheriff's Office. I came in to start our shift and was upset over a rude driver who I didn't have time to deal with.He sat at the desk peacefully checking reports . Without looking up he said "Robbie you can't let those things bother you. Just keep driving and think of all the stress you just saved yourself from. Thats what I do". I will forever miss his wit and laughter. May God be with you in this time of need.
