Dale O. Doak

DOAK, DALE O., 97 Citra - Dale O. Doak, 97, of Citra, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 at the Malcolm Randall V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville. A native of St. Mary's, W.VA., he came to Citra 20 years ago from Ravenna, Ohio. Dale was the former owner and operator of Hidden Valley Campground in Ravenna and also a carpenter by profession. Mr. Doak was a Life Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ohio and Florida as well as a Life Member of the V.F.W. in Ohio and Orange Lake Post #10733. He served in WWII in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Citra United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Catherine Anne Doak of Citra; son James Allen Doak of Ravenna, OH; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 children Richard L. Doak and Leola L. Doak. Friends will be received on Monday, Jan. 22nd from 6-8 P.M. at FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, Ocala, where chapel services will be held on Tues., Jan. 23rd at 11:00 A.M., with Revs. Jodi Hopkins and George Holston officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Citra United Methodist Church, 2000 NE 180th St., Citra, FL 32113. All are invited, following the interment, for lunch at the Citra United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
