Ocala - David Charles Endres, 86, passed away in Ocala, FL on October 13, 2017. He was born to David A Endres and Betty Endres in Youngstown, OH on March 14, 1931. During his high school years, Dave was active on the track team at Mercersburg Academy. He graduated from college at Denison University and married his sweetheart whom he had met during summer school at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
They moved to North Carolina where he served in the Marine Corps as a Captain for three years. Dave always loved to travel so he began a sales career eventually moving his family back to Ohio and settling in Westlake where he raised four children. During his career, he worked as a sales representative for Dooney and Bourke and became a manufacturers rep for fine men's clothing lines and gifts. He and his wife retired to Ocala, FL in 1997 where he enjoyed playing golf and bridge with friends. In 2001, he started working part time for Decca and continued until 2013 as a guard at the Oak Run gate, where he was known for his great sense of humor and friendly smile. Dave will be remembered as a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend with a great personality.
Dave is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Endres; his sons, David B. Endres and wife, Fonda, of Pearland, TX; Richard O. Endres and wife, Rhonna, of Montgomery, TX; his daughters, Ellen Bossert and husband, Beau, of Galveston, TX; Michelle Beach and husband, Mike, of Mason, OH; his grandchildren, Richard Endres II and wife, Danielle, Faith Ellis, Chase Bossert, Brandon Endres, Justin Bossert, Logan Beach, Lauren Endres, Ethan Beach, Peyton Beach, Hailey Endres; and great-granddaughter, Eme Endres.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ruth Carlson and Peggy Billingsley.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the chapel in Ocala West United Methodist Church, 9330 SW 105th St. Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Marion County in his name.
