Ocala - Edward (Tom) Tomlin, Sr., 64, passed away on January 16, 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife: Mazella Tomlin; sons: Edward Tomlin III, Michael P. Tomlin (Kia), and Bobby Burley, Jr.; daughters: Rometha Gilmore (Jamie), and Kantrell Burley; 15 grandchildren; sisters: Alice Tomlin, Belinda Davis (Lonnie), Brenda Bernard, Pamela Hopkins, Karen Crudup (Andre), Delonia Hicks (Michael), Gwen Nixon (Orange), Jacqueline Franklin, Albertha King, Azzie Hill-deceased (Willie), Daphne Oliver (Tyrone); brothers: Michael G. Tomlim, Wade Tomlin-deceased, Raymond King III (Carolyn), Carey Majors III, Anthony Nobles (Connie), McDaniel Woods (Danicka), Brian King (Krystal), John Nobles (Valerie); mother-in-law Lorene King; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Meadowbrook Church, Tim Gilligan, Pastor. Jamie D. Gilmore, Sr., Eulogist. Wake will be on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Greater Hopewell MB Church. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 11 a.m. -7 p.m. at Snow's Funeral Ministry. Arrangements entrusted to Snow's Funeral Ministry of Ocala, Florida - "Providing A Memory That Will Never Fade".

Ed Tomlin was a classmate at Hampton Institute. We shared many occasions when we played on the baseball team in 1965. He was the best running back on Hampton's football team. He had a great zeal for life! Our last meeting was at a game between Hampton and FAMU, in Florida. Since we won we spent a great time enjoying the victory and catching up! May God Bless his soul and watch over his family.

My husband and I both worked with Ed at ClosetMaid (sales & customer service)and he was a wonderful person. We talked about the Steelers a lot and we love Coach Mike Tomlin. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My condolences to the Tomlin Family. My name is Paul Doyle and I live in St. John's , Newfoundland Canada. I have no affiliation to the Tomlin family other than I have been a Steelers fan since I was 12 years old, 34 years ago.
I did not have the pleasure to meet Mr Ed Tomlin, however I feel that I know Mr Tomlin a little , after watching Mike Coach on the sidelines of the Steelers. I feel that the Integrity , work ethic and compassion for others that I see from Coach Tomlin, has been passed down from Mr Ed Tomlin.
