Belleview - Mr. Emmanuel Eugene Chauncy, "Chauncy", was born 77 years ago in Ashdown, AR to Alva and Ada (Parrett) Chauncy. He grew up in Hemet, CA. He enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean Conflict as a paratrooper for nearly four years. He then traveled all over the world working as a telephone contractor, finally settling in Belleview in 1983. He started ASAP Phone Company in 1985 installing residential and commercial phone systems throughout the Marion County area. He never met a stranger and everyone was his friend. He is survived by four children Kathy (Walt) Flathers of Kansas City, MO, Marion, Shawn, and Kayle Chauncy, all of CA; his devoted wife of twenty-one years Becca; three stepchildren, Jane (Greg) Mann, Charity Meagher, Chad (Courtney) Meagher; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as his brother Leroy (Jan) Chauncy of Las Vegas, NV, and a sister Lorraine Dunn of Monet, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 2 PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, and a memorial service will be held at 7PM at the Moose Lodge in Belleview.
