EUGENIE DAWKINS, 87
Ocala - Mrs. Eris Eugenie Dawkins Thomas, 87 lifelong resident of Ocala, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 She was a self employed beautician for over 65 years. Survivors include Two sons Lathell (Rosalind) Thomas, Cary, NC., Larone (Tara) Thomas, Gainesville, FL., Two daughters Patricia (Rev. Dr. Mack King) Carter, Davie, FL., Peggy Thomas, Ocala, FL., One sister Erma Dawkins Rush, Ocala, FL., Twelve Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren, Funeral Services for Mrs. Thomas will be held on Sat. Sept. 11, 2010 at 11 :00 AM at New St. John Baptist Church 2251 N.W. 2nd Street Ocala, FL. Rev. T. L. Brooks, Pastor Burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Garden under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home 18 N.W. 8th Ave Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday 3:00 - 7:00 PM New Zion Missionary Baptist Church 728 N.W. 6th Ave Ocala FL. Wake Service at New Zion Baptist Church from 6:00 - 7:00 PM on Sat at New St. John Baptist Church one hour before the service. The cortege will form at the home of Mrs. Thomas 1339 S.W. 2nd St. at 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers Memorial-Contributions may be directed to; Florida Memorial University 15800 N.W. 42nd Ave Miami Gardens, FL. 33054 Ref: Eris Dawkins Thomas Scholarship. Floral Tributes may be directed C/0 Sellers Funeral Home 440 S.W. Broadway Street Ocala, FL. 34475.

We, too, share in the family's grief over the loss of such a sweet, angelic spirit. Her gentleness and cordiality will always be remembered. While we are sad, we also know that Sister Iris has certainly made her transition to glory. Thank God for His sovereignty. He never errs. The family should rest in that knowledge. Bless your hearts!
