FRANCES HUMPHRIES, 91
Dunnellon - Frances Humphries Butler, 91, longtime resident of Dunnellon, FL, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully, December 18, 2009, in the care of HRH Hospice, Hudson, FL. She joins her husband Ralph M. Sr., and youngest son James Charles in eternal rest. Frances, the ninth of tem children born to James T. and Fannie Humphries was born in Moravian Falls, NC in 1918, and grew up in Safety Harbor, FL on her family's orange grove. She was a 1936 graduate of Clearwater High School and attended Florida State College for Women, now FSU. While a reporter with the Dunedin Times, she met and married Ralph Sr., in 1940, her beloved husband for the next 64 years. In 1942 they moved to Dunnellon, FL where they started a family. After residing in Clearwater for another 13 years, and raising her sons, she and Ralph Sr., moved back permanently in 1966, to Dunnellon where she became the town librarian till her retirement. Frances was a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. She is survived by her eldest son Ralph, Jr., (Angela), Hudson, FL, two granddaughters, Audrey Smith (Larry), Towson, MD, and Christina Butler, Tampa, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews. Old friends may visit at 10AM, December 26, 2009 followed at 11AM by services at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave, Dunnellon, Fl. If friends choose, donations may be sent to HPH Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd, Hudson, FL 34667, to honor Frances' long full life.
