JOHN WEST Obituary
Ocala - John Calvin West (Johnny) 82, of Ocala, Florida passed away Friday, February 19, 2016. He was born on November 11, 1933 in Ocala, FL to John Calvin West, Sr. and Rhoda Elizabeth Camp West.
Johnny was a 1951 graduate of Ocala High School. He retired after 30 plus years with the Marion County Sheriff's Department. He continued to work another four years with the US Marshall's Service. He enjoyed garage sales, woodworking and traveling. He loved spending time with family, friends and his four-legged babies, Brody and Jay J.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janice P. West; his children, Connie Counts (Chuck), J.C., Carl West (January), Brian Pendarvis; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Ave, Ocala FL 34480 on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation in his memory be made to the Humane Society of Marion County, 701 NW 14th Road, Ocala FL 34475

Johnny, May you rest in peace. He was one of the first Deputies I met, when I started With OPD, in 1967. He was quite a guy and a good friend to everyone he met. May GOD be with Janice and family during this difficult time. Those that didn't get to know Johnny, missed a great guy.
