MARY ANNA, 68
Ocala- Mary Anna Glisson, 68, loving mother and grandmother, of Ocala, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 27, 2011. She was born in Wildwood, FL on February 20, 1943 to parents, Sammie and Essie Mae (Zipperer) Caruthers. Mary moved to Ocala at age 20, where she met and married the love of her life, Jimmie Glisson, and raised her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala and loved her Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie. Survivors include her son, James Glisson; daughter, Julie Tankersley (Jake); son, Tim Glisson (Sara); grandchildren, Danny Tankersley and Gracie Glisson; sister, Delilah Gwaltney (Wayne); brother, William Caruthers (Betty); sister, Becky Partridge; and brother, Tom Caruthers (Benachoice). There will be graveside services for Mrs. Glisson on Wednesday, August 31st at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Wildwood, FL. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Ocala in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are under the care of Roberts Funeral Homes Bruce Chapel East, 352-732-9944.

James,Tim and Julie, Miss Mary was the sweetest,nicest and most caring human being I have ever met. I knew in our first meeting together she was going to treat Brett like her own. By knowing Jimmy & Mary and having a friendship they made me a better person. love & peace to you, Steve

Some of my fondest memories are of "Miss Mary" and Mr. Glisson. Remembering our Land Judging trip to Okalahoma and your mom chaperoning and calming us the night the tornado hit, and the years she loviningly cared for my daughter. She cared for "her babies" as if they were her own. Find comfort in knowing she is with "the love of her life" and at peace.

Mary was such a very special lady to us and we loved her very much. She will always be close to our hearts and we cherish our memories of her. Love to all the family, Chip and Sue Matthews
