Roland "Perk" Perkins

PERKINS, ROLAND "PERK", 59 Ocala - Mr. Roland "Perk" Perkins, age 59, of Ocala, Florida died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Legacy House Hospice. He was born in Berlin, Germany and moved to Ocala in 1994 from Miami, Florida where he retired in 1989 as a Lieutenant with the Coast Guard after serving 23 and one half years. Following his retirement he worked as Supervisor of Construction with the Port of Miami, was director of Safety and Security with Sea Escape Cruise Lines and worked for the Department of Revenue as a Child Support Enforcement Officer. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory. He was a member of the Chief Warrant Officers Association and the Retired Officers Association. He is Episcopalian by Faith, and loved playing golf, fishing, going on cruises, playing cards, and traveling, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Andrea of Ocala, Florida; his (3) sons, David M. of Charlotte, N.C., Steven M. of Lakeland, Florida and Ron M. of Ocala, Florida; his brother, Douglas Perkins of Las Cruces, New Mexico and (6) grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 12 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2007 at the ROBERTS FUNERAL HOMES, Bruce Chapel West, 6241 S.W. State Road 200, Ocala, Florida 34476. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
