SHAAR, RUBYE "HINGE" 90
Ocala - Rubye "Hinge" Shaar, age 90, of Ocala, FL passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010. She was born in Holmes County, FL on May 24, 1919. She moved to the Ocala area from Tampa approx. 35 years ago. Mrs. Shaar worked as a Physician's Assistant in the Tampa area. When she was younger before she was married she worked on a military base in Avon Park as a Chauffer for officers. She was of the Baptist Faith. Her hobbies included gardening roses, sewing, cooking, exercising, photography, fishing and taking care of family. She especially loved ball room dancing with her husband Richard. When she was younger she raced motorcycles. Survivors include a daughter Nancy Shaar of Toano, VA and a sister Merle Grice of Ocala. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Richard A. Shaar who passed away on March 1, 2008 and also a brother J.D. Frank Hawthorne who was killed in action during WWII while serving with the Army Air Corp. as a Gunner. A funeral service will be held at Hiers Funeral Home, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 10:30am. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
