Samuel Thonen Obituary
SAMUEL ROLAND, SR.
Dunnellon - Mr. Samuel Roland Thonen, Sr., 72, of Dunnellon, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his residence. A native of St. Petersburg, FL, he and his family moved to this area in 1995, coming here from St. Petersburg.
Mr. Thonen loved the great outdoors, rather it was camping, fly fishing, or playing golf, as long as it was outdoors he was happy. Later in life, his love of the outdoors was replaced with his love for being with his family. He retired from MRMC in 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol; his two sons, Samuel R. Thonen, Jr., and Scott Thonen; his brother, Fredrick Thonen; six grandchildren; and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Garrett Thonen 2003.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon. Condolences may be left for the family at
