EDWARD WILLIAM, 87
Ocala - William E. Jackson, 87, retired school teacher, transitioned from this life on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Ocala Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida.
He received his formal High School Education at Howard Academy, finishing in the Class of 1945.He received his B.S. Degree in Business Education from Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1950. He also studied at Florida A&M University where he received his Master in Education in 1975. He taught 35 years in the public Schools System for Marion and Nassau Counties, retiring in 1985. He was a Lifetime member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where he served on the Trustee Board. He was a Member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and been a member for 66 years as a "Alpha Man".
He is survived by his daughter, Joretta Jackson Williams, Ocala, Florida; four grandchildren; four nieces and four nephews; one sister-in-law. and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, classmates and sorrowing friends.
Viewing for Mr. William Edward Jackson "Billy" will be held on Friday at Summers Funeral Home 12:00 Noon to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services for Mr. William Edward Jackson "Billy" age 87, retired school teacher, will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 822 Northwest 7th Street Ocala, Florida with the Reverend Patrick Sasnett, Pastor conducting the Services. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, Ocala, Florida under the care of Summers Funeral Hom,e 2238 Northwest 10th Street, Ocala, Florida 34475. Viewing at the church on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. until time of service. No viewing after the Eulogy.
