Ronald Misco Obituary

Misco, Ronald "Moby" Raymond

Ronald "Moby" Raymond Misco, of Lena, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 26, 2017 in Three Lakes, Wisconsin.

Ron was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to George and Francis (Barszcz) Misco. He graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1960 where he enjoyed playing football and pole vaulting. He was always proud to share his nickname, "the Wedge", which was given to him by his teammates who said he could get through any defense and to share he was voted "best built" by his classmates. However, his most important accomplishment was winning the heart of his wife Sandy (Straubel) Misco. Ron and Sandy were married August 30, 1968 and would have celebrated 49 years of marriage this Wednesday.

Ron enlisted and served in the Air Force as a mechanic and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Ron was very proud of his three boys and their children. He enjoyed spending time in Three Lakes with Matt, fishing and yard work with Aaron, watching Chad coach, and spending time with and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Ron enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and historical TV shows. He loved to play cards and it was often during these games that you learned of the knowledge he acquired. His familiar hugs and unique stories will be fondly remembered always by those who knew him best.

Ron is survived by his wife Sandy, three sons, Matthew, Aaron and Chad (Lisa), grandchildren Virginia, Alexis and Luke, sisters Lillian Kawczynski, Marlene Johnson, Geraldine Misco, brother Thomas (Mary) Misco, nieces, nephews, extended family and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Francis (Barszcz) Misco, his in-laws, James and Susan (Lenzer) Straubel, and brothers-in-law Greg Straubel, Jae Straubel, Ray Kawczynski and Ken Johnson.

A private memorial was held for Ron on August 27, 2017 with his family. We ask that to honor Ron you spend some quality time with your family, playing cards, enjoying a game of catch or just doing something you love together. Life is precious.

So sorry for your loss. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Prayers and deepest sympathy.

Ron and I went in the USAF on the same day, Nov. 9th., 1963. We went through boot camp together, flight 1496, and were "road guards", due to our diminutive size. I ran into him once or twice over the years and when I'd see him, I'd yell "ROAD GUARDS OUT", that was our command to run ahead and block an intersection till our flight cleared the traffic. He was a favorite of the DI's because he could do push-ups on his finger tips. My wife was in his class at East High, she remembers him as a good football player. (Sandra Van Lieshout)
He was well liked and I'll miss my "road guard" buddy. Dan Williquette
