Dallas Rathe Obituary

LAMONT - Dallas Lee Rathe, 82, of Lamont, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at his home. He was born Dec. 20, 1941, in Sumner, to Reinhold and Lenora (Aschbrenner) Rathe. He was a 1960 graduate of Wapsie Valley High School and served in the U.S. Army and Reserves. He married Mary Westendorf Aug. 29, 1965, in Tripoli (d. 2022). Survivors include four children, Todd (Robyn), Mequon, Wis., Tim (Carol), Lamont, Dolores Hughes, Marshall, Ark., Ryan (Clancy), Prescott Valley, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, siblings, Michael (Sharon), Linda (Carol) Schwanbeck, Steve (Gail), Richard (Sandy), sister-in-law, Kathy Rathe, brother-in-law, Gayl (Laura) Westendorf; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service with military rites will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Mission In Christ Lutheran Church, Strawberry Point, with the Rev. Gary Burkhalter officiating. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Tripoli. Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Strawberry Point, is assisting the family.
