Lucile Hasbrook Obituary

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Lucile Welsh Hasbrook was an example of an exquisite life.
Lucile was born on September 5, 1919 in Wadena, Iowa. She loved to share her fond memories of growing up in a small town. At one point, she was the teacher at the same one room country school she attended as a child. Her parents, Frank and Mamie Welsh and her sisters Leona and Arlene, were always held lovingly in her memories.
In 1957, Lucile and her husband Ron moved their family to the Phoenix area where she worked for Motorola for 19 years. Many of her days after retirement were spent with friends, having lunch and playing golf; a game she loved and played quite well. She volunteered and was a longtime congregant of St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church. In addition to her community involvement, Lucile was an avid sports fan closely following the Cardinals and Diamondbacks.
What Lucile loved most, however, was spending time with family and friends. Everyone, whether young or old, enjoyed her company. She gave her undivided attention and love to each one of them. Her infectious optimism will be missed by all who knew her, but will remain as just one of the wonderful ways she led her life by example. She truly personified a life well lived.
Lucile is survived by her daughter Colleen Schuerlein, son Robert Hasbrook and his wife Linda; grandchildren Shannon Hudson and her husband John, Michele Shane and her husband Steve, Kevin Hasbrook, Christa Boe, Charlie Mingus, Ashley Hasbrook, great grandchildren Ian and Erik Hudson, Mykinna and Bella Boe, Sylvie and Mack Shane, River Mingus and Jaxon Decloedt, nephew Jim Mattern, niece Brenda Strand and her husband Tom, grandniece and grandnephews Mark Mattern and husband Nico, Greg Mattern and wife Denise, Eric, Matt and Sara Strand, great grandniece and nephew Zach and Mackenzie Mattern.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 18, at St. Daniels Catholic Church in Scottsdale.

Lucile was a dear friend of mine for many years . She always had a kind word to say . We spent many a Monday trying to solve the worlds problems ; but low and behold , those problems would be back with a few more added, when I would see her in 2 weeks. Lucile , you were one of the sweetest women , I have had the privilege to know. Your journey is complete on this Earth , but someday we shall meet again .
Colleen and Bob , thanks for sharing your Mother with me . My deepest condolences .
Love and Friendship Always, BeeJay
