OELWEIN - Robert L. "Bob" Wilson, 80, of Oelwein, died Thursday evening, Dec. 27, 2012 at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters in Oelwein.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Paul McManus officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary with 4th Degree Honor Guard will be recited at 6:30 p.m.

Robert Lee Wilson was born Oct. 18, 1932 at Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Edward Olie and Iantha (Mattice) Wilson. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1950. Bob was united in marriage to Novella Claudette Fitzpatrick on Nov. 27, 1952 at All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Bob owned and operated Superior Oil Service Station in Oelwein from 1954 to 1967. He then became an area manager for DeKalb Seed for 20 years, retiring on Oct. 31, 1987. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Rosary Society and a 50-year member of the Oelwein Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Novella Wilson of Oelwein; a daughter Christine (Dennis) Stolfus of Oelwein; seven sons, John Wilson (Yvonne Starr) of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Michael (Pearl) Wilson of Pierz, Minn., Patrick (Patricia) Wilson of Grinnell, Thomas (Lisa) Wilson of Eagan, Minn., William (Georgia) Wilson of Apple Valley, Minn., Kevin (Denise) Wilson of Oelwein and Timothy (Julie) Wilson of River Falls, Wis.; 22 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a brother Dick (Arleta) Wilson of Mesa, Ariz., and a sister-in-law Gloria Wilson of Cedar Rapids.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Ann Michelle Stolfus, two brothers, Edward Wilson, Jr. and Donald Wilson and two sisters, Letha Miller and Velma Jean Ackley.

Aunt Novella & Family,
