Albert Ruppel Obituary
Albert F. Ruppel "Alphonso" passed away April 12, 2007 peacefully in his sleep.
Calling hours will be TODAY from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Funeral services will be on Monday at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church with Fr. Jonathan Zingales officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Ruppel-
Your husband has been one of my customers at CVS since I first became a Pharmacist. He always had a smile on his face and asked me about my children. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing and I will never forget how kind he was to me especially when I first came out of pharmacy school. May he rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Al's passing and please accept my condolences. I had known Al for a number of years as we have played Euchre on many of Friday nights. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.

Bill and Rick,
I was saddened to hear of Al's passing. The best summers of my life were spent playing baseball for all of you.
I sill have those beloved Yankees jackets that were such a symbol of pride and hard work.
I never had a nicer coach who surrounded himself with such great people. Absolutely the best summers of my teen years.
He will be missed.

To Al Ruppel's family---
I am sure I am one of many who had the privilege of working at Ruppel's Art and Paint Supply while in college during the mid 1980’s. No, I did not study art but came to know Al and Harry's devotion to the college art student and I remember most product lines to this day! Al, of course, knew all the poster board colors and numbers by memory. It was a great college job----learning about the art tools and making deliveries in the famous Ruppel van to area art departments, artists, and business. Of course, I had to keep the store stocked with Al's favorite Verner's ginger ale! I became a lawyer and will never forget Al, Harry, Steve, Becki and Rick---Thanks so much for life's lessons.

Dear Ruppel family, Your family's 'expertise' in the art world allowed me to score quite a few art awards and graduate from Akron U's Theater Department with high marks in the field of Design Tech. My dad ( a draftsman @ B&W of Barberton) use to drive by your first store on Howard Street and with a sigh, turn to me saying, "I wish that was in a better place." Ruppel Family,

Some people come into our lives and quickly go but leave their footprints on the hearts of those fortunate to have known them. It was an honor to have known Al since Jr. High. He was a good man and I'll miss seeing him at Mass every Sunday praying his rosary. Have a blessed journey, Al.

Dear Ruppel's:
I can remember when Rupple's and Pokrant's were the only creative supply stores in town.
They left, and you stayed.
Then, being a customer of yours for the last 20+ years or so, always ready for a hearty, 'art-filled' laugh with Al, Harold and many others who passed through your store.
(A candy store for the truly creative.)
I was that much more shocked when I read that Al had left us, and extend my deepest 'art-felt'
condolences, especially to Harold.
Thanks for all the mediums, and the memories.
