Alice Rose Mattes

CUYAHOGA FALLS --Alice Rose Mattes, 88, passed away November 12, 2013.

Mrs. Mattes was born in Randolph, one of 12 children and lived in Cuyahoga Falls the past 58 years. She had worked at Goodyear during World War II as a Rosie the Riveter and at Angie's Market and Marie's Catering for a number of years. She was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Eagles and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E.; she was a loving mother to, Linda (Ron) Wahl and Gary Mattes, both of Cuyahoga Falls, Becky (Richard) Tustin of New Jersey, Bill Mattes and Larry Mattes, both of Cuyahoga Falls; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand-children; brothers and sisters, Betty (Jim) Sorbora, Rosie Rosemary (Mike) Kintz, Richard (Kate) Knapp and Ray (Janie) Knapp.

Special thanks to Dr. Bernard H. Smith who was always there when we needed him.

Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Hospice of VNS, 400 Wabash Ave., Akron, OH 44307.
