Arthur Scarpitti Obituary

Arthur O. Scarpitti, Sr. Arthur O. Scarpitti, Sr., 94, of Fairlawn, passed away Oct. 16, 2011. He was the first born son of Patsy and Louise Scarpitti on June 21, 1917, in Akron. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Albert, Ernest and Lawrence and sister, Grace Giorgio. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 70 years, Katherine; sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur Jr. and Janet of Fairlawn, Ronald and Sally of Akron; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and John McFadden of Akron; grandsons, Scott of Fairlawn, Todd and Megan of Haughton, La.; and brother, Paul of Stow. Art was a graduate of Kent State University, served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Firestone Synthetic with 41 years of service. He was a caring and spiritual family man, a gifted musician and an avid sports enthusiast. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Calling hours 6 to 8 Wednesday at the Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 Thursday at St. Hilary Catholic Church. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Hilary Foundation and the Hospice Care Center.

Dearest Aunt Katherine, Art, Ronald, Anita...Our deepest heartfelt condolences and prayers are with all of you at this most difficult time of loss and mourning. Uncle Art was indeed such a wonderful man and will truly be missed by all of us. May you all find peace and comfort in your Faith and Hope in our Lord and in your loving memories of having had our dear Arthur in our lives for so many wonderful years. May he rest well in the peace and joy of our Lord.
