"TOGETHER AGAIN"

C. R. "Bob" McCune

C.R. "Bob" McCune, 75, went on to be with his wife, Betty Lee, on Dec. 28, 2004.

Born in Akron, Mr. McCune resided many years in Cuyahoga Falls prior to moving to Portage Lakes. Bob graduated from Ellet High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1953. While home on leave, he married Betty Lee on Feb. 1, 1952. Following his service with the military, he graduated from Kent State in 1957, beginning his career as a C.P.A. with Price Waterhouse. He then became managing partner with Sorkin Thayer Co., which later merged with Coopers LyBrand. In 1985, he acquired Merryweather Foam, Inc., which he owned until retirement.

He was a lifetime member of Cuyahoga Falls Masonic Lodge 735 and was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Akron. He was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church for many years.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Betty, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Tara of Portage Lakes; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley and Craig Johnson of Hartville, and Michelle and Ted Lawver of Green; his grandchildren, who were the greatest joys in his life, Ryan, Jason, and Jamie McCune, Melanie, Philip, and Michael Johnson, Sarah, Carrie, Emily, Ted R., and Thomas Law ver; sister, Norma Kline of Cuy ahoga Falls; nephews, Randy and Bob Kline, and John "Kelly" Horn.

In all our sadness there is so much to be thankful for. One of God's greatest blessings is the gift of our memoriessomething death cannot destroy.

Funeral service Friday, 10 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., with Rev. Brian Nutt officiating, where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore V.F.W. Post 8487. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m., where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior to service time on Friday. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. The family wishes memorial dona tions be made to Lake Center Christian High School, 12893 Kaufman Ave. N.W., Hartville 44632, or Haven of Rest Minis tries, 175 E.
