Carl & Ann always sat right in front of my mom & dad every Sunday at ABT. My dad was an usher, my mom a greeter. I always knew Carl as 'Scotty'. He was such a very kind, Christian man, and had such a contagious smile. I never saw him without a smile on his face. Ann my deepest sympathy to you and your children. May God bless you in this difficult time.

Carl has been a blessing to so many people over the years. Although he will be missed we rejoice in the confidence that he is with his Lord Jesus. We will be praying for the family and know that God will bring comfort and peace.

As a kid fresh out of high school we pushed brooms together at the Akron Baptist Temple. Your smile, warmth, support and nurturance extended by you to me all those years ago still remains as a precious memory. As a young unmarried couple both you and Ann invited Polly and I into your home for dinner when Betsy and Gordon were just little ones. I believe that was the first time anyone acknowledged us as a couple worthy of a dinner party in your home. Ann, I will never forget your beautiful fountain stream you had created in your dining room. You both continued to mentor us in our early years of marriage with your example of love to each other. For perspective that was back in 1973... thank you.
Ann, Betsy and Gordon, both Polly and I mourn with you. But we mourn with hope that everything we believe is now coming to eternal reality for Carl. That smile... Carl's infectious glow of love will be remembered forever here on earth and welcomed once again when we meet over there.
Some people make a difference... Carl made a difference in my life and I am grateful.

A man of faith and family, you could not be around Carl without feeling the love and joy in his heart. He and Ann gave us the example of 50+ years of marriage and a life well-lived. I suspect the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," were heard as he passed from this world to his new forever home! Love to you Aunt Ann, Gordon and Betsy!

I had the opportunity to work with Carl at the Akron Baptist Temple for nearly 20 years. I knew Carl as a man of integrity, and a man that loved the Lord and his family. I want to express my sympathy to Ann and the children at the loss of this good man. An old song we used to sing at the church says, "This World Is Not My Home, I'm Just A Passing Through"...Carl is now at home with Jesus.
