Carol Alexander Obituary

Carol L. Alexander, R.N., B.S.N., 73, passed away Jan. 16, 2006, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cleveland, she lived in Cuyahoga Falls most of her life. Carol was graduated from Parma Schaff High School in 1950. She attended the College of Wooster and earned degrees from Western Reserve University. Carol worked for the Visiting Nurse Service in Cleveland and Akron and was an instructor at the Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing at Akron City Hospital for many years. After the School of Nursing closed, she worked in staff development until her retirement.

She belonged to the Junior League of Akron, the Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Police 31, the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Charles Faust Post, and was an honorary member of the Akron Power Squadron.

Preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, and daughter, Janet, she is survived by sons, David (Kathleen) Alexander, John (Francine) Alexander; grandchildren, Rebecca and Theodore Joseph "T.J."; sister, Jane Gordon; niece, Lynn (Chris) Sellon; nephew, Alan (Yvette) Gordon; and many other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Summa and Mary "Liz" Mason the for their kind and compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls 44223, with Father Thomas W. McCann officiating. Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. Donations may be made to Hospice of Summa, 525 E. Market St., Akron, Ohio, 44309.
