Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences at the passing of Deacon Charles.
In my minds' eye, I can see him walking, almost gliding, with that cool walk of his. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
I pray that your many memories help to bring you comfort.
God Bless,
Judy Livingston

So many memories, not enough time. Charles was the kind of person who could make you smile, no matter what might have been going on in your life. He always had a mint or a piece of candy to offer, like that would make everything alright. He used to call me Catherine.... and drug it out. That not being my name, I hated it. But as time went on, I just expected it whenever we met.
I remember sitting on the porch on Rhodes Ave one Sunday afternoon. Charles got out of his car and strode across the street with no shoes on, he was coming from church. Upon questioning him about being barefoot he said that Brenda had bought him a pair of too little shoes that hurt his feet. Well, he took them off at church and gave them to Pastor Bell. We could not stop laughing.
He and Pastor Bell spent many days on a fish bank somewhere. If not, he had his mother-in-law as his sidekick.
When he went missing the one day and the police put out either an Amber Alert or a Silver Alert for him, he turned up safe. He had walked to the garage where he used to work on cars. When I saw my bothers picture on TV, I was ready to start searching myself, from another state.
In the nursing home, if you had chocolates and a Pepsi, his face would light up like a child at Christmas.
Like I said, so many memories and not enough time.
Rest in Heaven brother-in-law, until we meet again!!!!!
