Charles Huston Obituary

Charles M. Huston

FAIRLAWN, OH -- Charles M. Huston, 76, passed away on January 22, 2014. He was born June 29, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Charles and Ruth Huston.

He grew up in East Cleveland and went into the army in 1955. After that he attended Kent State University and graduated in 1963. He then attended the University of Akron School Of Law and graduated in 1970.

Preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amelia Lynn Shambaugh; and brother, Lloyd C. Huston. He will be lovingly remembered and missed greatly by his wife, Donna Huston; daughters, Jamie Huston, Lynda Shambaugh; and granddaughter, Lindsey Shambaugh. He will be remembered by his brother, John (Patricia) Huston; and many nieces and nephews.

He fought bravely through a vicious illness and was victorious as he kept his spirit through the pain and weakness. His determination and optimism carried him through to the very end.

He practiced law for 43 years behind the Akron Family Restaurant and often talked about the friends and clients that he met from the Akron Police Department. Akron has lost a graceful man, keenly intelligent, energetic, thoughtful, dedicated and approachable. His death was a loss for many people in many places. Not only was he a counselor of law but also counseled friends and family on life in general. He was quick-witted with a warm way of making people comfortable and was a true gentle man with strong and unyielding sense of values.

He was a military veteran of the Army and participated in Operation REDWING conducted at the Pacific Proving Ground in 1956. He even named his boat after one of the Bikini Islands called Kwajalein.

He was affectionately known as Chuck by his friends. He loved boating, diving, and having long conversations with friends and family. One of his true loves was his devotion towards all animals. He rescued many stray animals over the years and his life was never without furry or feathered companions. He also instilled his love of reading, pursuit of knowledge, and sense of adventure. Nothing gave him greater pleasure than his family and he was very proud of his successful daughters. He was a devoted husband, dedicated father and caring grandpa.

Friends may call 2 to 5 Sunday at the Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, 44333.

Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 Monday at St. Hilary Catholic Church. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park, where the Firestone VFW Post 3383 will conduct military services.

I am so sorry for your loss Huston family.
Many years ago Chuck and I were friends and co-salesmen for the N.C.R. Company. We always
talked after our Monday meetings. He directed me towards my career as a stockbroker for Morgan-Stanley. I was lossed
in my thinking and Chuck directed me.
After all these years(1964 thru 1968)I
still think of Chuck .
Please accept my deepest sympathies .
