Christopher Core Obituary

Christopher Core, 61, local bass guitarist, passed away on December 24, 2020. A 1977 graduate of Central Hower High School, Chris was a popular local artist, who played bass with numerous bands. A self taught musician, he was a "beast" on the bass guitar, and had no rivals in his heyday. Chris also lended his impressive baritone voice to singing with most of the bands he performed with, adding his version of light hearted banter with his engaging stage manner. Preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mildred (nee Jones) Core and brother-in-law, Alex Isaiah. He leaves his sister, Vanessa; and his brother, Timothy. He also leaves his children, his grandchildren and great-grand children. No one was a stranger to Chris. So, he also leaves many friends and extended family, including childhood neighbor and friend, Wali Rahim. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be planned for a later date. 330-836-2725

I remember going to Miceli's to hear the band Seville. Great band but that bass player OMG.
Chris was special. Very bright, outgoing and sexy!!! Oh yeah he COULD play the hell out of that bass!
I am praying for his family, especially his kids they have lost a treasure.

I am so sorry to hear about Chris. He was a big, beautiful man, with so much possibility. Sadly, I never got the chance to hear him play. I will remember his sense of humor and that linguine and clams! My heart breaks for you and your family as I keep you in my prayers.
