Daniel Bosko Obituary
Daniel was born in Rootstown, Ohio on June 7, 1942 to parents, Joseph and Agnes ``Grega' Bosko. Daniel recently retired after serving over 48 years as an area manager for Ohio Bell hence AT&T. Daniel also earned his Juris Doctor and practiced law part time. He was a U.S. Navy veteran deployed on the aircraft carrier USS Randolph during the Cuban Missle Crises. Daniel was an avid Civil War historian and a member of the Civil War Trust. He was also a member of the USS Randolph Reunion Association and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He enjoyed old movies, especially Charlie Chan movies, but most of all he loved and adored his grandchildren.
Daniel is survived by his wife and mother of his children, Linda M. Smith. Surviving also are his children, Daniel (Lianne) Bosko, David (Eleanor) Bosko, Gina (David) Montgomery, Jeff Bosko and Greg Bosko. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jacob and Quinn Bosko, Olivia and McKenzie Bosko, Alexia, Cole ``Little Buddy', Liam and Mikhail Montgomery and Maddux Bosko. He is survived also by his brothers, Joseph (Mary) Bosko, Jim (Marlene) Bosko and his sister, Andrea (Rick) Palazzo. He also leaves many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his special friends, Jack and Connie Mansfield and the Moneypenny family and all of his friends and co-workers at AT&T.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Bosko.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Paul Rosing at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Holy Family Parish, 3450 Sycamore Dr., Stow, Ohio 44224. Interment will follow at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown.

Dear Bosko Family, What a great human being the world has lost. As I shared with you at the funeral home--- I worked for your Dad when my Mom and your Grandma were both so very sick. Your Dad was so understanding....and so very kind when my Ma passed away. Two weeks later you lost your Grandma. It was a sad time for all of us but your Dad made working at OBT easier. How he boasted about all his children...He couldn't have been any more proud. I just feel so badly...cause I never knew he was sick. I do believe in telling people how blessed we were to have known them..he probably knew since I used to thank him all the time.(His knowledge of the law also helped)! But I am sure he knows now!! May God's peace and love surround you all during this difficult time!!! You sure are a great looking bunch!!! May God Bless you all and MAKE YOU DAD PROUD!!!!

We all loved Dan as he was our Mr. AT&T and we will miss him dearly. Dan always made the time out of his busy schedule to share his vast knowledge with me on how the Central Office Operations worked as a new Central Office Manager many years ago. I will always remember Danny as the boy who sat behind me in our classes because in those days it was by alphabetical order. He was always in good humor and a joker. I am sure that he will be missed by many and our class of 1960 is now one less in numbers.

I did not have the opportunity to work with Mr. Bosko very much. But, in the brief time that I did work with him, I was so impressed with his knowledge of the business but most importantly, his caring and compassion for the people who worked for him. AT&T cannot replace a man like Mr. Bosko. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.

We have never met, but you worked with my mom Sandy at AT&T. She had nothing but wonderful things to say about you. You were an instrumental figure in her life.
