Darryl A. Polos

1948 - 2021

Darryl A. "Skip" Polos, 73, of Akron passed away April 29, 2021 at Pebble Creek following illness complications after a fall. He was born April 4, 1948 in Akron, OH, the son of the late Gus Alan and Mary Janice (Meese). On November 11, 1982 he married Deborah L. Hamilton. Together they shared 38 years of marriage. Skip grew up and attended school in Coventry. He was a paperboy; worked for the township at age 16; an over-the-road truck driver before working his way from laborer to Plant Supervisor for Waltco Truck Equipment for 21 years. After that he worked for CMC, Inc. doing maintenance for PPG in Barberton and making concrete forms for 10 years before having to go on disability. He was preceded in death by parents, Gus Alan and Mary Janice Polos; son, Kenneth A. Polos; brother, Dwite A. Polos and brother-in-law, Eric Gramley. He is survived by wife, Deborah L. Polos (Hamilton); daughters, Sharri Polos and F. Nicole (Richard) Insley; sons, Louis (Katrina) Polos and Andrew "Gus" (Madison) Polos; grandsons, Joshua, Owen, and Jameson Polos; sister, Penny Gramley; sister-in-law, Patricia Polos; brothers-in-law, Mark (Melinda) Hamilton and Carl David (Carolyn) Hamilton; in addition to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
