David Blough Obituary
David Hites Blough, 78, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019.
Dave graduated a Barberton Magic, Class of '59. He went on to earn his Bachelor degree from the University of Akron and Master's degree from Baldwin Wallace. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox after over 50 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Doris (Hites) Blough; in-laws, Edward and Marjorie Rector; his much older sister, Jackie (John) Mihelich and nephew, Dennis Braman.
Dave is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandy; sons, Michael (Cathy), Jason (Jen) and Tom (Lisa); daughter, Marcia (Keith) Selbee; grandsons, Jordan, David (Anastasia), Dillon, Stephen, Jackson and Jake; grandgirls, Marrissa, Rachel and Alethia Blough, Emma Selbee, Alex and Darian Ward; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill (Bev), Ken (Janet) and Chuck (Becky) Rector; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna (Larry) Barton. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 13th at 6 p.m. at Barberton First Church of Christ, 552 Harvard Ave., Barberton with Jeremy Klein officiating. A celebration of Dave's life will follow the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Barberton First Church of Christ in his memory.

Dave an I worked together at TLT-Babcock. We car-pooled from Manchester for a while, played softball, and shared a few beverages. I forgot him at work one night. He found another ride, but needled me for quite a while thereafter. Later, we were two doors down in Purchasing at BWX Technologies. A good friend always who will be sadly missed.

I was at Barberton High School when Dave and his sister Jackie were there. Jackie was a cheerleader and Dave played basketball. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

David was my first senior manager at B&W. During my first year I participated in Junior Achievement with him. That first year was very enjoyable and memorable. After that first year David was instrumental in helping me secure continued employment in another division of B&W.
I regret that I am unable to attend his services and offer my condolences to his family.

Dave was one of the kindest and most pleasant people I have ever had the privilege to work with. He brought joy to everyone and always put a smile on our faces, especially his ability to lighten the air when we were going through trying times. I will always cherish the many fond memories.
