THEN AND NOW
David Hibbs Coffman, 86, passed away on October 27, 2017. He was born September 2, 1931, in Uniontown, Pa., and lived in the Firestone Park, Akron and Ellet areas most of his life.
David proudly served during the Korean War as an Airborne Ranger. He was a member of the Firestone Park United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine A. (Schaber) Coffman. He is survived by his son, David K (Laura) Coffman; daughters, Dolores (Rick) Kuhlman, Nancy (Dennis) Smith, Janice (Mark) Fryman, Carolyn (Steve) Payerle, Diana Riley, Cathi (Scott) Householder; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Norma C. Brewer (Virginia Beach, Va.).
Throughout the years David worked as an aluminum siding contractor as well as 25 years at Chio Chrysler in Twinsburg, David was a hard worker and supported his family.
Family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 12 noon at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice.
