It doesn't seem so long ago that we lost David. I still think of him partly because there was a tag his friends would use of a crown above a heart and someone made a wooden one and it is on a telephone pole around the corner from my house. It has to be from one of his friends. He would be 34 now and I know he would have made the most of his life. I'm sure, like Bruce Brown many of his other teacher still remember him as I do.RIP David

On May 1st, 2009, the very brightest star in my universe faded from view. no one can possibly know how much I loved my son, how proud I was of him.
For many years, I raised him alone. It was very hard for both of us. And yet, I believe that struggle made us both better for it. My beautiful little boy was all that I was not. There were many times that I questioned my right to even be the father of such a soul as David. I can not describe the pain that is now my ubiquitous burden. I taught David all I knew, remorsefully, I failed to teach him that he was not indestructable. God, Imiss you so much.

Dave was a great son and a wonderful all around person. He could make you smile when you were sad even when he wasn't around. He was kind and inspirational. I hope everyone who knows Dave knows how lucky they are. There will never be another person like him in our lifetime. He was talented and very sympathetic. I am glad he was part of my life and I will always remember him and his little love yous and his childish charms. I will always be thinking of you. Miss you, love you.

I don't know what to say, Dadface I miss you and I wish you were here. I'm so happy that I got to tell you how much I loved you, and how proud of you I was at your last show. I'll miss your hugs, and correcting me about my grammar. Or the way you'd get really annoyed at me when I interrupted you, I'll miss everything about you. It's crazy that you're gone, part of me just wants you to come out of nowhere and yell "Bah!" But it isn't happening, maybe if I live my life the way you lived yours and maybe we'll met somehow half way into okay. I love you, and I miss you always. You were the best friend I could have asked for, and the best best best best best best dadface ever.

David has been my student since Jennings and was always one of my favorites. He was so witty and funny. He was always such a loyal friend to those around him. He was always kind, generous, smart and creative. When I needed help to move art supplies into my North art room, he was the first kid I thought of to help me. It was a privilege to see him grow into such a mature and talented young man. I am so sorry for your loss and for the loss of what he would have undoubtably contributed to the world. He will be greatly missed.

It was such a pleasure to have David in my computer classes. Anytime his name would be mentioned among fellow teachers, someone would always say how much they loved David Stoneking. He was a great student and a great human being. I miss his presence here at school. He touched so many other lives in such a short time, it's tragic that he was taken aways so soon.

His web sites created for class are online at: http://thewall.100webspace.net/Thewall1.html and http://thewall.100webspace.net/finale/

I don't know what to write. I can't believe everything- my boyfriend's obituary, my boyfriend's memorial service... It's like some kind of bad dream, or joke. I didn't even get two years with him. But I suppose I can just be happy that I had the perfect boyfriend for those 561 days, and I'll have the memories until the day I die. I have so much more to write, but like I said in an English assignment last year, if I wrote down every memory or thought I've had of David, I'd have myself a decent-sized memoir. I guess, since everyone is talking to Dave, not about him, I'll just tell him this, I love you. I always will. I was scared, when we were dating, we'd break up and I'd fall out of love with you, but now I know that will never happen. No matter how old I am, I'll love you.

Steve, Missy and Family,

We want to thank you for allowing Dave to be part of our lives. The first time we met Dave,Rick had left the house with his chicken hat on and when he came back Dave walked in with him wearing his bird hat.We knew then we were in for a treat. Almost instantly he became part of our family. It felt like we knew him all his life.

He was the best friend Rick could ever have. Dave seemed to be the only one who could get Rick up in the morning without complaint so he could take him to school. Rick would do anything for Dave and Dave would do the same for Rick.
Dave would always make us smile. We would try to do music trivia with him and we would lose miserably. He knew all there was to know about Pink Floyd. He was so very polite. Every time we had dinner he wouldn't complain about anything even though I'm a terrible cook. Even if we couldn't eat it he would somehow stomach it. I made sure he had plenty of ranch dressing and BBQ sauce in the frig because he would eat it with everything. Probably trying to mask the taste. He would always thank me and would clean up after himself. I would try weekly to make cookies special for him and Ricky.Rick would get chocolate chip and Dave would get peanut butter. They wouldn't last long and usually got into them before they were cool.
He was so very proud and talked of his accomplishments in school and he looked forward to college. His life was so busy between school, work, family, friends,a girlfriend and the band that he wore himself thin and we would find him napping a lot trying to catch up. Then the band would all get together,go out to the band room and practice until 10:00 pm when he had to be home.
We cant begin to grasp the grief on your family. His death is one of the greatest losses we have ever known and as rough as it is for us it can't touch the sorrow that your going through as parents. Dave was such a loving, caring and intelligent boy that was turning into a great man. We feel honored to have been part of his life and Dave a part of ours forever. We will always love and miss him. Our hearts go out to you. We are so very sorry for your tremendous loss.

Davidson You were my shining star. You were bright as the morning Sun. You made my heart sing when it was wheeping. Like a Star that shines so bright the light goes out once again. I had given up two sons before and I thought my life was over then came a boy named David that brought love and life into it again. You've taught me so much. I will miss you but never forget you.

I love you and I will see you again soon.

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world.
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it

I will always love David and will never forget his sweet face and bright smile.

Until we meet again.....

I didn't personally know David, but I did speak with him a couple of times on the internet. He seemed like a very sweet guy who made my old friend Carol Anne happy. I saw that he was an aspiring musician and its so sad that a young person with so much to give had to leave us so soon.

David,
You were one of the first people I met my freshmen year at North. I knew right there, how good of friends we were going to become in the future. Your hugs were the best. Your random outbursts of things that made no sense were so funny, the awkward looks you would give were just hilarious. I cant express even in words; how much I will miss you. You were the type of person who made an impact on every ones' lives' that you came into. My sincere condolences goes out to your family.
