Elaine Geissert Obituary

GEISSERT Elaine Caire Geissert passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011. She had just celebrated her 87th birthday. She was born in New Orleans, LA where she lived most of her life before moving to Metairie, LA. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur A. Caire, Jr. and Louise Fabacher Caire and the wife of the late George Hutton Geissert, Jr. She is survived by her son, John Gregory Geissert; her daughter, Pamela Phillpott; her son-in-law, William Thomas Phillpott; her sister, Shirley Wegmann; her brother, Albert Caire; and her two grandsons: William John Phillpott and Kenneth George Phillpott. She was preceded in death by her son, George Hutton Geissert III; her sisters: Katherine Caire, Joyce Wegmann, and Audrey Sprung; and her brothers: Dr. Arthur Caire III and Dr. John Caire. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church. She was a passionate gardener who loved taking care of her flowers as well as her constant Pomeranian companion who never left her side. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her dedicated caregivers: Diana Mccray and Tammy Conway and the staff at East Jefferson Hospital and Guardian Home Health. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at Noon on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6428 West Metairie Avenue, with visitation to begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date. LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. I'm very sorry for the family's loss. Miss Elaine has been on my mind lately and I found this by a fluke. Greg I'm so sorry! I feel lucky to have known her. I hadn't heard about Hutton but he's probably in a better place. Take care. you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss. I know that you will miss her. I was taken back but not surprised about Hutton. I did not know about that.
