I just recently learned of Deb's passing. I was shocked and saddened to say the least. We were friends way back in college days, late 70's and worked together waiting tables at Preston's on Western. Sandy and I went to High School together and also worked together at Howard Johnson's Reservation Center. I am very sorry for your tragic loss. Debbie was so much fun. My sincere condolences to her husband and all her family.

To Charles,
I read your beautiful article in the Washington Post. How lucky she was to have such a supportive and loving husband. What a beautiful tribute you made in attending the march. Know that your article will be in my heart and the hearts of others. Know that your beautiful wife's legacy lives on. May you find some comfort in that during this difficult time.

I just read an article written by her husband, Mr. Charles Ikins, in today's Washington Post. It brought me to tears. She was obviously a wonderful person and dearly loved. I did not personally know Mrs. Ikins, but I certainly wish I had.
My condolences to the Ikins family.

I first met Debbie when I was serving with her husband Chuck Ikins in Congressman Ben Blaz's congressional office in the 1991 to 1992 time frame. She was always so very gracious towards me. I was sad to them leave the DC area and move to Ohio. But at the same time I was excited for them to be going into heading off to a well deserved retirement.

I am having a mass said for Debbie on 25 December 2017 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. This is just a few short miles from where they lived in Alexandria. God bless you Debbie!
