Donald Butcher Obituary

HUDSON -- Donald E. Butcher, 71, passed away January 26, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Donald was a loving husband, proud father, caring grandpa and a generous and dependable son, brother, uncle and friend.

Don was born on May 24, 1934 in Akron. He moved to Hudson in 1957 and started Hudson Heating Company, which he owned for 39 years, retiring in 1996. He loved his family and friends, was an avid traveler and a sports enthusiast. He shared many good times with his golf and bowling buddies.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Inez; sons, Mark (Lily) of Hudson, and Dan (Sheree) of Akron; daughters, Sandy Boyd (Matt) of Atlanta and Teri Bettio (Joe) of Cuyahoga Falls (we will miss you, Dad!); grandchildren of whom he was so proud: Austin, Audrey, Madison, Max and Rylee (we love you, Grandpa!); sisters, Donna Nash and Joyce Brown; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Little Don; granddaughter, Mackenzie; parents, Earl and Esther; brother, Earl; and sister, Colley Mullett.

For family and friends, life will go on, but it won't be quite as much fun. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of our friends at Hospice for their compassionate care during Don's last months.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29th from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Redmon Funeral Home, where Rev. Joe Coffey will conduct service Monday, January 30th at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Markillie-St. Mary's Cemetery in Hudson. If friends desire, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333.
