Emanuel DiFrangia Obituary
(Manny) DiFrangia
Manny DiFrangia, born 9/4/1950, passed away on July 19, 2018. Manny, son of Olga (Carnevale) and David DiFrangia, lived his entire life in Akron, Ohio.
He leaves behind his wife, Ann; sons, Santino and Josef; his stepchildren, Sara (Victor) and Allan; grandchildren, Enrico, Aria, Luciano, and Gabriella; brother, Frank; and his dearest friend, Father Norman Douglas. He is also survived by cherished members of the Carnevale, DiFrangia and Laurella families.
Manny was a graduate of North High School and The University of Akron, where he obtained a Master's degree in Social Work. He worked in the Akron area for over twenty-five years as a Chemical Dependency counselor. He reached out to those suffering from addictions in his unique style, sharing his own story of recovery and journeying with them.
A time of remembrance and fellowship will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 West Market Street, Akron. A mass will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Those who wish to can make memorial donations in Manny's name to St. Vincent de Paul Parish Foundation, 164 West Market St., Akron, Ohio 44303.

I knew Manny in the late 60s when he would visit my grandparents on Monday nights with his grandparents. He was so cool, I kinda had a crush on him!

It was a pleasure getting to know and working with Manny. He was an inspiration to all of us here at the Crisis Center. I'll Miss You My Friend. Heaven truly gained an Angel! Love Ya Bro and I'll see ya on the other side! My families thoughts and prayers will go out to your family.

I am so very sorry to hear about Manny's passing. I am very happy that I got to see and talk to him these past couple years. He seemed very happy with his life and had a very loving and supportive family around him.
