Family, Please accept my sincerest sympathies and please know my prayers are with you. I weep.
Although many years have passed since I last seen that precious force of nature; She was a very dear neighbor to me, I loved Evelyn.
I lived across the street in the early 90's, we shared many conversations,
laughs and a couple books.
She was very proactive for the city, neighborhood and it's people.
I remember in the 1970's? passing out flyers to keep Washington School opened and 30 years later I'm living there on that land seeing her again!.
She was a wonderful Volunteer. ( Thank you for giving and helping so many.) She delivered Mobile Meals with my friend Carol for many years, She knew our seniors fell short in the food category along with checking in on them when delivering.
Evelyn did the spectrum from our seniors to the children, down to the poor excuses given for shabby or no sidewalks for pedestrians, people would have to walk in the street!
She fought for it! I believe she may have started or had a hand in The Sidewalk program.
I was blessed to have a wonderful, loving and caring neighbor.
Evelyn will be missed, I will cherish the wonderful memories.
