Everett E. Liggins was born on November 5, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio to Alvin Pete and Emma Liggins. He went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2007. At the age of 68, Everett passed away after a brief illness.
Everett attended John Adams High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. At age 63, he retired in 2002 from Daimler Chrysler in Twinsburg, Ohio.
Everett was preceded in death by his father, Alvin; mother, Emma; sister, Barbara; brothers, Harold and Alvin, Jr.
Everett is survived by his loving wife, Gilda; brothers, William (Gwen), Robert, and Daniel (Joanne); stepbrother, Earnest (Juanita) Lovelace; son, Leandre (Angela) Liggins; stepsons, Anthony "Quinn" (Leslie) Liggins, Anthony D. Hickman, Eric W. Davis, Dwayne E. Hickman, and Byron "Troy" Elston; stepdaughters, Judy (John) Ross, and Tina W. Hickman; grandchildren, Dwayne, Jr., DaShawn, Lakia, Kylon, JaVonte', Keenan, Dazzmen, Aaliyah, Tyron, Leandrea, and soon to arrive Noah; nieces, Etolia (Charles), Joyce (Howard), Earnest Jr., Sherry (Tyrone), Sheila (Brian), Kimberly (Dion), Letitia, and Lisa; nephews, William, Jr. (Yolanda), David and Daniel, Jr. (Paula). Everett is also survived by a host of great-nieces and nephews; special aunt, Bessie Jordan; special nephews, Cordell Slack, Kenneth Slack, and Van Jordan; close friends, Leon and Doris Martin; and faithful dog, Cuijo.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 6, 2007 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1706 S. Hawkins, Akron, OH 44320, Rev. George McNab eulogizing and Rev. Jesse Peterson officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1214 Roslyn Ave., Akron, OH 44320.

Dear Gilda, I am so very sorry to have just heard of your loss. My soul is so very hurt that I am just finding out of Everetts passing. You two were family to me in ever way possible. I know that there are no words that can heel or replace him,but I do know that we service a great God, and that he will bring you thought all of the rough times and times you feel alone. I will miss him dearly. And I am hear for you whenever you need me. He was a great husband, father, friend and neighbor and no one can or will ever be able to replace his style.
