F. Elizabeth "Betty" Gombert, 83, a long time resident of Cuyahoga Falls, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Akron General Hospital.
She was born January 14, 1924 in Kent to Carl J. and Gertrude (Warth) Kline. She was a member of the Portage County Historical Society, the Kent Historical Society; and volunteered at Mobile Meals and at Stow Glen.
She is survived by sons, Carl (Anita Blatnik) Gombert of Maryville, Tennessee and Rich (Kelly) Gombert of Sagamore Hills; daughter, Sue (Matt) Guyer of Kent; grandchildren, Mike (Denise) Miller of Lawton, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Gombert of Maryville, Tennessee, Katherine Gombert of Sagamore Hills, Olivia Gombert of Sagamore Hills, Anna Gombert of Maryville, Tennessee and Abby Guyer of Kent. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gombert in 1992.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Kim Barnett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron Zoo, Development Office, 500 Edgewood Ave., Akron, OH 44307 or Mobile Meals, 1063 S. Broadway Street, Akron, OH 44311-2340.
