Fred Carl Cook, 78, went to Paradise with Jesus (Luke 23:43) on November 11, 2008.
He was born in Bloomington, WVa. to the late Russell and Lula (Smith) and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Ford Motor Company Walton Hills Stamping Plant with 30 years of service and was a faithful and active member of the Ellet Community Church of God for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma Geraldine "Gerri"; son, Carl (Carla); daughters, Brenda (Ron) Winn and Rhonda (Fred) Norris; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Hudkins; very special niece, Deborah Hudkins; and very special friend, Wayne Dorst.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008, at 12 noon, at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Jim Roma and Pastor Wayne Lafollette officiating. Calling hours will be for TWO HOURS prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Private interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or to the Ellet Community Church of God, 2700 Priscilla Ave., Akron, Ohio 44312.
