I can't believe it is going to be one year since you left us. I know that you are watching over all of us. We all miss you so much. It's kind of strange, but this guest book seems to keep the family connected. It helps us realize that we are all hurting from losing you. I hope that we find a way to communicate our feelings once this book is gone in a few days. Watch over Jayden on feb. 14 when he has his procedure. Please talk to him and be with him . Grandma says that she feels you with her alot and that you move things around. That me be true or not, but it doesn't matter, I think it helps her get through the days. Keep us safe and strong grandpa and watch over our babies up there. Love you forever.

Dad, it's Christmas~ and it's the most difficult time without you. Mom has had the "blues" lately. She is really having a hard time coping with the holidays without you~ however, the drama around her keeps her mind off things. So in a way all that "drama" is good for her...Rick and I talk about you often. He misses you very much. He finished the engine swap in Rick's car and thanked you with every turn of every bolt for teaching him how to work on cars. Thanks for guiding him. As you enjoy spending Jesus' birthday with him, watch over all of us~ helping us to cope with your loss during this holiday time.....give my Uncle Tom a hug for me...I miss him so much too....and give my son a big hug and kiss from me. Love you and Miss you....Merry Christmas!

Dad, well today is my Matthew's birthday. I hope you've found each other up there by now, I know it's really crowded but~he's adorable. I'm so jealous that you get to spend today with my baby. But, at the same time I'm very happy that you get to be with him and celebrate this day together. You both are always in my heart and thoughts, but this day, has a very special place in my heart. I will never forget this day way back in 1980. Please give Matthew a big hug and kiss from his Mommy and tell him that I love him with all my heart and I miss him and that I'll be able to be with him someday. Until then Dad, have fun with him and take him fishing...Happy Birthday Matthew Lucas Laney! Mommy loves you.

Dad, where do I begin? It's been a tough week. Sorry I didnt' write sooner. As you know we had a yard sale to clear out the garage..it was really hard on Rick to try to put a price on the things that made you happy. We sold your boat.[sorry] but the guy who bought it is really happy..so hopefully more happy times will come from it...and you can guide him out on the lake.

Mom is having her 2nd eye surgery tomorrow...so please watch over her. She is very excited at the thought of being able to see clearly again..and driving...she really misses driving. ~~ And it was your birthday. This year you got to celebrate with some of your family you haven't seen in a long while...what a celebration you must have had....I hope you had cake! :)
Well, Dad I ask you keep watching over all of us, guiding us and protecting us... we can feel your love. Thanks for helping with Kylie..BTW. Love ya,

They marked your place here in this life, but you are forever in our hearts and minds. Look over us from up there grandpa, we sure need your help. Love you always, Melissa

Life sure isn't fair.
Well, Mom fell and broke her hip. Surgery went well but now she is in a lot of pain. She will be in rehab for a while to get her strength back up..hopefuly past where it was. Mom's eye got fixed, Mom's hip got fixed, the saturn is getting fixed, the window got fixed, the truck got fixed...the list of what needs fixed is getting shorter and that's a good thing. Please keep watching over us ~~ giving us strength to go on without you.......as this father's day approaches.. the first without you.....God give us strength. Love and Miss you.

Dad, where do I begin?!! I know you are watching over all of us, so you know what's going on, but I feel I need to share this with you anyways. As you know, Mom is having cataract surgery today...so watch over her and the doctor. She's scared. Then in a few months she'll have the other one done...She misses you so badly. She is trying very hard, but these health issues are hard on her. Be with Judy too as she is struggling with with sooooo many issues right now..And be with Pam. She misses both of you. They will come around, in time. I know you are with Rick...you are giving him the strenth to do it all...but no one can replace you Dad. He misses you soooooooooo much. He is trying so hard, Anyway, just please keep watching over all of us, giving us all strenth and the doctor who is operating on Mom today. I love you.. Oh, I bet you and Junior are having some good conversations!!

Dear Mrs. Laney, Rick, Pam, and Judy:

I am so, so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and dad. I was in the same grade and classes with Pam. Rick was a year or two older and Judy was younger. I came over to your home on Kimball Ct. and had a lot of great times there. When I go by Kimball Ct. I think about your home and all of the fun I had growing up in this neighborhood. I lived on Florida Ave., a stone's throw away from you. Your mom and dad always welcomed me!

Grandpa.... I am going to miss you so much. Everyone keeps telling me that you are in a better place now. That may be true, but it doesnt make me feel any better about you being gone. You were such a great grandpa to all of us...and I love you very much. Lauren is going to miss you, too. She loved going to visit you! You will always be "Grandpa at Trixie's house" to her. We love you and we miss you and we will have you in our hearts forever and ever.

Rick,Mom, Pam, and Judy: I don't have all the right words to comfort you in the loss of Dad. I know how much you all loved him and I know how hard these past days have been on all of you...I do know that you have the support of your family, friends and memories of Dad to comfort you. I hope you know how much I cared about him and all of you too. I know that he is looking down on us saying "I'm better then I was". I love you all.
