She resided at 75 North Portage Path. She moved to Akron from Washington, D.C., after her husband, Max, died in 1968. She was a member of Temple Israel and Taylor Road Synagogue.
She was the beloved mother of Linda Weiner and Shirley Helden (Freddie); grandmother of Charles Helden (Sharon), Cheryl Helden, Cynthia Kraig (Brian), Meredith Cymerman (Michael), and Jacqueline McConarty (Will). She had seven great-grandchildren, Sarah and Max Helden, Andrew, Alison, and Danny Kraig, and Ariella and Isaac Cymerman.
She was dedicated to her family and kept involved in their lives and welfare. The word used to describe her most often by those who knew her was "amazing." Her clarity and sharpness of mind and her strong sense of independence belied her years.
Graveside services at Mt. Olive cemetery in Solon will be TODAY at 11 a.m., with Rabbi Abraham Bensoussan of Taylor Road Synagogue and Rabbi David Lipper of Temple Israel officiating. The family will be at 586 Fairhill Dr. on Saturday evening, Oct. 15. (GORDON, 330-836-7989.)
